Novo Nordisk is a leading global pharmaceutical company, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Denmark. Our purpose is to drive change to defeat diabetes and other serious chronic diseases such as obesity and rare blood and endocrine disorders. We have been doing this for 100 years through pioneering work, researching innovative solutions to prevent and cure diseases. We promote access to our products for patients around the world and are actively committed to prevention. With our Circular for Zero environmental strategy, we are pursuing a goal as a sustainable company to achieve zero environmental impact in all our business activities. We are the first pharmaceutical company to be using 100% renewable power in all our global production facilities since 2020. Novo Nordisk employs about 53,000 people in 80 countries and markets its products in around 170 countries. The first branch outside Denmark was established in 1930, in Switzerland. Today, there are around 250 employees working at the Zurich Airport site, about a third of whom work for the Swiss branch.
